Mayday Mayhem in aid of The Robin Cancer Trust

Mayday Mayhem was the first and remains one of the most loved and well attended fundraising events in The Robin Cancer Trust’s calendar, raising thousands for the charity over the years.

And this year will be bigger and better than ever on Sunday 6th May!

For those that don’t know, The RCT is the UK’s only dedicated germ cell cancer awareness charity. The RCT was set-up in 2012 following the untimely death of Robin Freeman, aged just 24. The charity aims to raise awareness of all germ cell cancers, including both testicular and ovarian cancers, in adolescents and young adults.

So head down to V Bar from 5pm on bank holiday Sunday 6th May and party with us while watching some of the best local acts around and donating to The RCT to help with their continued work of raising awareness. RCT merchandise will be available to buy on the night!

Pint of Science - Colchester

Upstairs at V Bar from the 14th – 16th May, V Bar Welcomes Pint of Science – a non-profit organisation that brings some of the most brilliant scientists to your local pub to discuss their latest research and findings with you.

You don’t need any prior knowledge, and this is your chance to meet the people responsible for the future of science (and have a pint with them).

The international festival is coming to Colchester to show you what scientists, predominantly from the University of Essex are doing.

V-Bar will be hosting the Beautiful Mind events over the 3 days (14-16 May) with topics ranging from the denial of death to AI in game designing to busting those neuro-myths.

Tickets go on sale on the 9th April for less than the price of a pint! Take a look at the Volunteers involved in bringing the Pint of Science to Colchester:

We look forward to seeing you in May!
